This is an update on Charles Stevison, the injured (just turned)14 year old youth circus performer.

Seriously injured by a hit and run driver, this determined
youth circus performer continues to improve.

This encouraging report is just in from Aileen Moffitt, director of the Prescott Circus Theater in Oakland, CA.

Charles got out of the hospital on December the 6th. He will be returning some time in January for more surgeries.

He is in a very positive mode. He has been visiting circus class frequently. Yesterday he went with us on a field trip to see "Habitat", a circus/theatre production in San Francisco. It was also his birthday! So everyone sang happy birthday at the end of the show. We also celebrated with cupcakes and birthday candles. We were on BART (public transportation) and had the cupcakes on a street corner. This was a funny place to celebrate a birthday, but we could only cheer, "This is SO much better than having your birthday in a hospital!!!"

Charles' energy is great. His arms are in splints so his movement is limited. But his big sweatshirt covers it all and he looks like a regular teen. He was laughing and making jokes like always.

Just yesterday I passed on the latest round of greetings, many of which came from circuses across the country. We are all happy to know there is such widespread support. I know Charles enjoys hearing from people.

Thanks, Circus4Youth, for all of your concern.

Aileen
