It's 6:30 AM and the local Fox TV station is doing a live morning news broadcast from the circus building in Peru, IN. The girls from the high wire act decided to catch up on some lost sleep on one of the large safety mats. Ringmaster Bruce Embrey is reminding them that they will soon be performing. The flying trapeze act was already on at 6 AM!

Taking Down "The Beast"

This is the all volunteer rigging crew with the Peru Amateur Circus at their best! They are removing the large and very heavy "low casting" rigging (which they call "the beast") from the arena floor following that act.
Like so many other youth circuses, the rigging crew is made up of circus parents and alumni. They could not have a show without them!

This is 7 year old Aurora Loyal standing atop of Hennak, a Fresian draft horse. She is the 9th generation of her famous circus family to perform this type of act.
