Ashley Felix, age 10, was interviewed by a Youth4Circus Web site editor on August 2, 2006 at Belleville, Ohio. Ashley hails from Mexico near the United State border. She performs with hula hoops in Ring One on the Carson and Barnes three ring circus. She began appearing in the show at age 7. She said that it took her three years to perfect the hula hoop act. On the circus she is an usher before the show starts. She also performs on the web during a spec paying tribute to the Red, White and Blue.
Ashley said that her schooling comes from a correspondence course. She said that just before she performs the hula hoop act it is necessary for her to warm up. Her long range goal is to perform on the silks.
The editor notes that Ashley is a very poised young lady for her age.
